San Sebastian is a city on the Bay of Biscay, surrounded by hills, in the heart of the Spanish Basque Country. It is one of the most popular tourist spots in the whole of Spain, with a large influx of visitors for its annual film, jazz and other festivals. San Sebastian is home to over three-quarters of a million people, and in addition to being a popular holiday resort with surfers and sightseers alike, plays hosts to four universities. San Sebastian has an oceanic climate, with warm summers and cool winters; overclouding is a fairly frequent occurrence in the area, which experiences moderate rainfall. The city has two railway stations; RENFE covering both local and national, and Euskotren, covering local routes, although passengers are advised to check travel times, which can be lengthy in relation to the distance traveled.
